Agora, em 2016 (entre agosto e setembro) as três categorias – docentes, técnicos administrativos e alunos – da Universidade Federal do Paraná terão a oportunidade de participar da Consulta para escolha dos dirigentes máximos da Instituição, ou seja, reitor ou reitora e vice-reitor ou vice-reitora.​

Este direito democrático passou a ser exercido pela comunidade universitária em 1984 e, desde o início, a organização e execução da Consulta sempre foi de competência das entidades representativas – Associação dos Professores da Universidade Federal do Paraná/Sindicato, pelo Sindicato dos Trabalhadores em Educação das Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior e pelo Diretório Central dos Estudantes. Também a este tripé de entidades cabe o custeio financeiro da Consulta.

Representação dos técnicos administrativos

Para garantir a paridade e representação legitima das entidades na CPC –Comissão Paritária de Consulta foram eleitos, em assembleias das três categorias, nove representantes titulares e outros nove suplentes. Representam, como titulares, os técnicos administrativos na Comissão os(as) servidores(as) Rufina Rodrigues, indicada como 1ª Vice-presidente da Comissão; Celsina Alves Favorito (Coordenadora de Comunicação) e José Olivir de Freitas Junior (2º Secretário).

Os(as) suplentes – Marianna Sella, Patrícia Pott e Paulo Adolfo Matoso Nitsche – apesar de não terem direito a voto, participam ativamente das discussões feitas na CPC, contribuindo com suas experiências e sugestões na elaboração das atividades desenvolvidas pela CPC.

Além desses técnicos administrativos, a Comissão é composta também por seis professores e seis estudantes, igualmente eleitos por suas entidades representativas. Este grupo, portanto, lançará edital para inscrição de chapas, definirá quem é apto a participar da Consulta, estabelecerá locais das urnas, enfim, conduzirá todo o processo (votação, apuração dos votos e encaminhamento do resultado ao Conselho Universitário).

Nesta instância da UFPR será feita a homologação do resultado da consulta e a elaboração de uma lista tríplice para envio ao MEC. Historicamente o MEC tem nomeado o primeiro nome da lista, garantindo, assim, que o desejo da comunidade universitária manifestado, por meio do voto direto, seja respeitado.
